October 2009 Updates

The following updates are scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2009. 1.) Add/Modify page portlet updated to contain new theme layout options (liquid, fixed width, document, fixed shared left, fixed shared right) 2.) Google Search Appliance has been added to all sites in new template 3.) Confirmation of Save has been added after Drop Down menu setup has been saved. 4.) Sub Navigation Portlet has been given option to display depth 5.) Google Maps - Directions and borders added to portlet 6.) Image Rotator - New Portlet 7.) UNL Virtual Tour Map - New Portlet 8.) Liquid theme in new template now works 9.) Site converter altered to work with new templates. Fixed image issue. 10.) Validation issues corrected (page title with & in it, single parent page in drop down menu now validates) 11.) Log in page updated. 12.) Page title can get updated through the add/modify page portlet. (does not take effect immediately) 13.) Portlet List reorganized 14.) Updates made to the theme 15.) Form Manager Upgrade - Now fully customizable with all field types. Additionally, known bugs have been fixed. 16.) Paste button removed from journal article editor.

Items released / to be tested 1.) Google Search Appliance will be in the Backyard Farmer and UNL sites. This feature can be turned on and off by using the labeled portlet in the UNL Controls menu. (Need to test both themes. The results pages might need some css work done) 2.) "Add / Modify Page" portlet wording changes. Page title is now saved. Home page cannot be deleted (only edited). Javascript error catching was added if a user enters a file name that contains a space. (Need to test this feature in a County site and a UNL site. There is separate wording being used) 3.) "Help! - Documentation and contact info." link was added into the drop down menu. 4.) Items in menu have been re-named. 5.) "Free Form" page layout has been removed. 6.) ActionTeam Theme has been created. 7.) Backyard Farmer Theme changes 8.) Javascript error on the backyard farmer site. (site should use smaller javascript with no errors) 9.) Google Custom Search - The delete button wasn't working with the google Custom Search. It should be working now. 10.) Backyard Farmer Site: paragraph spacing isn't working -

The following updates will occur this evening: 1. FCKeditor Image Properties dialog box - Hide the Width & Height options..Hide the Border, HSpace, and VSpace options. 2. Add / Modify Pages portlet for All sites 3. Document library fix (issue Neal was having). Currently only an administrator has access to view/edit the document or image library. After today's release a user will not have to be an administrator to have access to it. 4. Ability to create some of the larger sites (crops, water, action team, etc..) By uploading theme instead of creating internal methods in the extension environment. (this way we will avoid having to go through a release to get these sites up) 5. Google Search Appliance in the backyard farmer site 6. Removing the "Home" Link in the welcome menu. (This link didn't work like it should and is therefore confusing)

Updates to Liferay today include: - Change copyright date from 2007 to 2009. - “FCKeditor - Resources Browser” dialog box: change text from “Upload a new file in this folder” to “Upload a new file in this folder (image file size max = 300KB)” - B (bold) button and I (italic) button are putting in the incorrect tags - & . Today's update included the following: 1. The people listing's "delete photo" button is being fixed. It was previously not removing photos. 2. County Site controls are being simplified.
